So if I now press the ctrl key the screen changes to show you what would happen if you combine ctrl with any other keyĪ lot of the shortcuts many users will already know but there will be a few that you may not have seen before and this is a great way to learn just exactly will happen when the keys are combined. If you look at the dialog in blue in the centre of the image it says "Hold control, Alt, Shift or Search to see keyboard shortcuts for those modifiers" If you do that you will get a screen that looks like this You can easily see these on your Chromebook by pressing ctrl+alt+/ (but I'll also add a list of some useful ones).

Rather than typing out EVERY keyboard shortcut I thought the easiest way to show which key combinations will complete the task you want is to show screenshots. If you are using a small mobile phone to view this then turn the phone landscape view to get a better view of the screenshots. Hopefully there will be other new Chromebook owners who will find this useful. I thought I'd start with the keyboard shortcuts as when I use a Mac I don't even think about what I am doing my fingers go straight to the keyboard shortcuts and this obviously didn't work when I was trying to do some things on the Chromebook. So from now on you are going to see a lot of posts on ChromeOS tips on my site (as well as the usual stuff of course)
#Ctrl alt delete chromebook upgrade
Anyway, to cut the story short I didn't upgrade and bought a Chromebook.Īs I do a lot within the Google ecosystem it was a no-brainer and so far I haven't been disappointed with a very cheap piece of equipment. I have always been a Macbook Pro user and was hugely disappointed when they released their latest versions they could have done so much more to improve on the previous version.
